The 3 Best Wine Farms In The Garden Route!
The Garden Route region is one of South Africa’s best-kept secrets, and this small town (Plettenberg Bay) is home to some of its most renowned wine farms. With its divine climate and gorgeous scenery, the area offers several options for visitors to explore the finer side of life in a tranquil setting. Here are the 3 Best Wine Farms In The Garden Route:
Bramon
Bramon Wine Estate is located just on the other side of Plettenberg Bay near the Crags, and they were the first wine estate in this area. Their tasting room, cellar and restaurant offer a unique experience where you can enjoy delicious food & wine whilst sitting on their terrace or even amongst the vines.

Newstead
Newstead is a family-owned and run vineyard – that brought their young family to The Crags and in 2006, when the Plettenberg Bay Wine of Origin region was in its infancy. They bought 11.5 hectares of fallow land and planted vineyards of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes.
Since the release of our first vintage in 2012, Newstead wines have been honoured at the most famous South African and international wine shows and acknowledged by the most respected critics.
Newstead has a fantastic restaurant that offers delicious food to be enjoyed on their terrace and in the garden whilst gazing at their spectacular vineyards.

Luka Vineyards
Located on the other side of Plettenberg Bay, near the Crags, Luka Vineyards is a family affair. A family of travel-loving, foodie’s decided to set sail on an epic food and wine adventure around the world. This incredible time enhanced their shared love of experiencing new flavours, cultures, tastes and smells. Leading them to find a small piece of paradise right here in the heart of Harkerville where they found their calling: growing grapes for world-class wines!
They believe that it is their duty as custodians of this beautiful land to act ethically at every point in our vineyard operations and so they have adopted sustainable practices at every step along their journey from soil preparation to harvest and then again during fermentation through bottling.
They have a beautiful restaurant & tasting room as well as a picnic, cafe and wedding menu!

These are just some of the best wine farms in the Garden Route that you can visit. We have tried to highlight some of the unique aspects of each farm so as to give you an idea of what to expect when visiting them. Of course, there are many more than just these three places but they have stood out for us over time as being extraordinary!
